Something is broken and seriously amiss with our Santa Cruz County government. Even before the CZU Fire, our county was infamous for being one of the most difficult counties in California in which to build anything.By both their actions as well as their non-actions, the county bureaucracy appears intent upon preventing families from rebuilding their homes that they lost in the 2020 CZU Fire.

My pledge to you
Let me be honest. I don’t know all of the problems that face the 5th District. Nobody does. I don’t know what problems may befall the 5th District or the County of Santa Cruz in the future. Nobody does. Who could have predicted the CZU Fire coupled with the COVID shutdowns? Nobody could have.
